Trail from Oberg to Caribou is in great shape! Despite the dry weather there is plenty of water in Rollins Creek. No H2O from there to the Poplar River. Hiking was good except for two things. The first was the heat, WOW mid 90s and no breeze. You actually got hotter when you stopped hiking. The second was that some thoughtless soul abandoned some rather large hills, right in the middle of the trail-...apparently they go by the names of MOOSE and MYSTERY...ruined an otherwise very pleasant walk, turned it into a bit of a slog. Seriously this is a very nice overnight with an easy out at Lutsen if you change your mind. Enjoy it out there... |
