Report:
We arrived at Crosby State Park on the 23 in the middle of the warmest late November weather that we could remember. We set up camp at a beautiful spot on Benson Lake. We did a lot of day and night hiking around the park checking out the different trails and campsites around the park. It was a very nice evening of hiking and sitting around the campfire. Overnight, it started raining and decided not to stop all day and night long. We made the best of it and headed to a shelter on the Superior trail by the Cascades of the Manitou River to have some brunch. After that we went to the Cascades. They are truly beautiful and a lot of fun to climb around, even in the pouring rain. We ended up doing about 9-10 miles of rain hiking on the Superior Trail and the other trails in the park. I know that I would definitely like to come back and do some more hiking on the Superior Trail, possibly even thru-hiking. The trail is great, rugged and incredibly beautiful. |
