Midnight Sun Grand Traverse Hiking Event on the Superior Hiking Trail

The Midnight Sun Grand Traverse is a supported hiking/running event on the Superior Hiking Trail. Choose from 27.4, 21.5, 16.7 o 10.2 mile distances, winding up and down the westernmost ridgeline of the Superior Hiking Trail. The event captures the beauty of the fall colors and the changes against the backdrop of the largest freshwater body of water. The Grand Traverse finishers (27.4 miles) start at the western end of The Superior Hiking Trail in Jay Cooke St Park with 3 other starting points as options for participation. All courses end in Canal Park, right by the shore of Lake Superior.

The event is not timed, but provides bus rides to all starting points and support stations along the course. Bus transportation to the starting location starts at the Endion Station in Canal Park at 5:30 a.m. Five percent of all entry fees benefit the Superior Hiking Trail.

Participants receive a finishers t-shirt and Grand Traverse finishers receive an award.
