The hiking buddy feature allows people looking for hiking partners the opportunity to make connections for day hikes, backpacking trips, snowshoe outings or to car pool. This feature is only for people who want to make a connection for the Superior Hiking Trail.

This page allows you to post a hiking buddy request.

How do I post a buddy request?

1) You use the Post a new buddy request link and fill out the form. Your e-mail address is required but will not be displayed on the web site or provided to anyone attempting to contact you.

2) After you complete the form the web site will send an e-mail to the address you provided. Within that e-mail there is a link. Click on that link to approve your posting.

3) An e-mail will also be sent to the Hiking Buddy Moderator. The moderator will review your posting and assuming it is appropriate they will approve the posting and it will become public.

How to delete a posting.

1) Go to Delete your buddy request and enter your e-mail address. A list if your postings will appear. Indicate which ones you want deleted.

2) You will receive an e-mail to confirm each deletion.

How to contact someone who posted a request

1) When you view the text of a posting (click on the headline) you will see a link in the lower right of the posting to "Contact Poster". Click that link.

2) The system will display a form for you to fill out. An e-mail with this information will be sent to the poster. The poster has the option to reply or not.

The Superior Hiking Trail Association is providing this free service to Trail users and is in no way responsible for anything that happens as the result of using this service. Use caution when responding to requests.
